A Too-Cheap Room and a Secret Wager: My Roommates Made a Bet

What is My Roommates Made a Bet about?

The rent is suspiciously low, and that is the first clue. A guy short on money answers a room ad that looks too good to be true and moves in with two roommates who have quietly wagered on which of them wins him over first.

Candy’s own description promises that not everything is what it seems, which is the real hook. A bet gives the roommates a game; a twist gives the story a reason to keep moving. Candy leaves the cast field empty for this one, so there is no named lead to follow, and the series leans on its premise and its ensemble instead.

The tone is playful and flirtatious, with both roommates in on a joke he has not heard. If you like setups where the new arrival is the last to understand the rules, this is that, in five episodes. There is a practical upside too: with no cast to learn, the first episode explains itself, and one free episode is enough to tell whether the humor is yours.

Is it worth 36 tokens?

Episode 1 plays with no sign-up, Episode 2 opens with a free account, and Episodes 3, 4 and 5 cost 12 tokens each. That makes 36 tokens to see how the bargain room and the secret wager play out.

A Premium month carries 100 tokens, so the series costs just over a third of one month’s allowance. The pricing guide has the plans, and how to watch Candy Shorts free shows what you can see before paying. The free episodes cover the start of the story, so you can answer the real question, whether the premise holds you, before spending a token.

Candy does not publish runtimes, and we will not guess. The browser-based player needs no download, and subtitles come in seven languages. Re-uploads on other sites are cut down or fake, which leaves Candy as the legitimate place to see it.

Who should watch it?

Anyone who enjoys a too-good-to-be-true setup, an ensemble of roommates and a story that flirts with misdirection. It is a quick, low-stakes pick, and five episodes keep the bet from overstaying its welcome. Skip it if you want a named star to follow from series to series, because no cast is listed.

If you finish and want more, the Chat with the Cast button on the series page opens a chat with the characters.

What to watch next

For another public short with a forbidden twist, The Nun in Our Guest Room follows a woman a week away from her vows who wants one thing for herself first, with the same 36-token finish. For length, Yes Ma’am runs 35 episodes on a military base and costs 396 tokens to finish. And Tori’s Broken Vows is the members-only option: Premium from Episode 1, ten episodes and a secret affair that starts in a bridal suite. The full series list has more.
